Burton Dr. Has Been Saved

I would like to thank those who took time from their day to come represent Lula at the Hall County Planning Commission this evening. CBD Investments, LLC was represented by Mr. Rochester. During the public portion of the meeting, no one stepped forward to speak in favor of approval for the proposed Inland 365 Business Center. When asked for those who were present to speak against the proposal, four citizens spoke. All were not opposed to development, however, wanted to ensure conditions were clarified and the most intrusive proposal of permanently closing Burton Dr. was removed. Dennis Bergin spoke first for the City of Lula, followed by Tony Cornett. Then Amy Cornett and Joleen “Joey” Bradley. Councilwoman Denise Shockley and one other resident from 8th street in Lula were also present in support for ensuring conditions were applied. Chair Chris Braswell led the organized discussion and Stan Hunt made the motion that was ultimately approved by the Hall County Planning Commission with conditions including that Burton Drive must remain. This recommendation will be heard by Hall County Commissioners on November 9, 2022.
